What is a fine art print?

A fine art print is more than just a photo; it’s a meticulously crafted piece designed to endure, thanks to the use of high-quality inks and papers that ensure vibrant colors, rich tones, and striking contrasts. Yet, for me, there’s an even more crucial element: my fine art photos must possess a “soul,” something inherently special. They must tell a story—from the instant of capture through post-processing to the final print.

Within my carefully curated collection, each image holds significance; they all resonate with a unique “soul” as they’ve journeyed through three distinct moments.

The first moment occurs during “the shooting” phase. It’s when I encounter a landscape that stirs something deep within me, evoking a profound emotional response. I connect with the landscape’s singular beauty on a visceral level.

The second moment unfolds during “post-processing.” Here, as I edit the image, I rediscover that same emotional resonance experienced during the initial encounter. It’s as if I’m reliving the moment of capture, and my heart is touched once more.

The third moment arrives with “the print.” As the image materializes on paper, it marks another pivotal juncture that transports me back to the instant of capture. My heart quickens with anticipation, and at last, my soul finds fulfillment.
